Lucid Minds Positive Behaviour Support PTY LTD provides high-quality Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), an evidence-based service supporting individuals with behaviours of concern, as well as their families and support networks.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking one experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join a team that genuinely prioritises people, not just participants, but staff as well.
At Lucid Minds, we don’t just talk about values, we live them. We understand that to provide the best support to others, you need to feel supported yourself. That means creating an environment where your work-life balance is respected, your contributions are recognised, and you feel part of a team that has your back.
Position Overview:
This role focuses on delivering individualised, person-centred behaviour support that improves quality of life, reduces behaviours of concern, and minimises restrictive practices through evidence-based approaches.
We are looking for a practitioner who already holds a valid NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (NDIS P number) and is confident in managing a full caseload independently, someone who wants to step into a role where they are trusted, supported, and not micromanaged.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Sunshine Coast region or Northern Brisbane.
Why You Might Be Ready for a Change:
· If you’re currently in a role where you feel stretched, unsupported, or like you’re just another number, this is your opportunity to move into a workplace where:
· Your time, boundaries, and home life are genuinely respected
· You’re supported by a collaborative and approachable team, not left to figure things out alone
· You have access to consistent supervision and guidance, both internally and externally
· Your workload is manageable, realistic, and structured for long-term success — not burnout
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop individualised, evidence-based strategies that reduce behaviours of concern and minimise restrictive practices
· Independently manage a full caseload with confidence and clinical integrity
· Conduct functional behavioural assessments and develop high-quality behaviour support plans
· Work collaboratively with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams
· Ensure all plans meet NDIS and clinical standards
· Lodge behaviour support plans involving restrictive practices with the NDIS Commission
· Develop and monitor risk management strategies
· Deliver services in line with organisational and legislative requirements
Essential Requirements:
· Current NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (NDIS P number) – non-negotiable
· Proven experience managing a full caseload independently
· Relevant tertiary qualification (psychology, OT, social work, or similar) or working toward it with strong experience
· Strong clinical knowledge in functional assessment and behaviour support planning
· Sound understanding of NDIS legislation and Behaviour Support Rules
· Experience with Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed practice
· Excellent report writing and communication skills
· Ability to support participants across the Sunshine Coast region and Northern Brisbane
· A grounded, professional approach with genuine care for people
Required Certifications:
· Current NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (NDIS P number) – non-negotiable
· NDIS Worker Screening Check
· NDIS Worker Orientation Module
· First Aid & CPR
· All relevant compliance documentation
What You’ll Gain at Lucid Minds:
· We are intentional about creating a workplace people don’t want to leave.
· Strong focus on work-life balance, your time outside of work matters
· Flexible hybrid working arrangements
· Ongoing internal and external supervision so you never feel unsupported
· Generous annual leave plus leave loading
· Early finishes on Fridays — because your weekend shouldn’t start exhausted
· 3-monthly team bonding events that are genuinely fun and well-organised
· Regular shared morning teas and team lunches that bring the team together
· A workplace culture that is supportive, down-to-earth, and team-driven, no egos, just people who want to do good work together
If you’re looking for a role where you can do meaningful work without sacrificing your wellbeing and be part of a team that truly values and supports you, we would love to hear from you.
